Escalade Sports Acquires
Legendary Archery Brands
 Effective on June 17, 2003, Escalade Sports has acquired the assets, intellectual property, and brands from North American Archery Group.
These two companies have long been recognized for bringing more people into the sport of archery than any other bow company in the world. The acquisition further demonstrates Escalade Sports' commitment to the sport of archery that dates back to its founding as Indian Archery Corporation in 1927.
Escalade Sports will continue to develop the highly recognized brands that come with this acquisition, including the Fred Bear name, as a means to further the growth of its youth and adult archery business. With the purchase of the manufacturing headquarters in Gainesville, Florida, along with its innovative archery designs and patents, Escalade Sports will leverage these strengths to continue the development and broad distribution of archery equipment.
The brands in this acquisition represent some of greatest names in archery history and reflect some of the most innovative times. Fred Bear, who lived and breathed the sport of archery, is synonymous with innovation and renowned for his commitment to wildlife management practices, which to this day have positively affected game populations. Tom Jennings, known in his early years for his development of traditional bows, is best recognized for his work on the compound bow, by far the most significant development in the history of modern archery.
